About the Club
The Kāpiti Chess Club has been supporting chess on the Kāpiti Coast since 1984. We are an associate member of the New Zealand Chess Federation, with an active calendar of rated and casual events, including the annual Kāpiti Open, and the Kāpiti Junior Open.

Fees
| Junior Club | $30 per school term |
| Senior Club | |
| Adults | $150 per year |
| Juniors (under 20 as at 1/1/24) | $90 per year |
| Unwaged & full-time tertiary students | $100 per year |
| Or play as a casual (per night) | $10 for adults $5 for juniors and students (including tertiary) |
The first two nights are free. Members who join the club during the year can pay pro-rata for the remainder of the year. Juniors playing both in Junior and Senior Club pay only one annual fee. All senior club members become registered with the New Zealand Chess Federation and have free entry to our annual Kāpiti Rapid Open.
Fees can be paid online into the club’s bank account via account number 06-0730-0064954-00 (including your name in the reference) or brought along on any club night.
