One more round of the Club Champs and play’s all over for year.
Results are tight—David Paul leads the A Grade by one point ahead of Lars Dobbertin-King and Ross Jackson. Rick Lowe is half a point ahead of Sean Doyle in the B Grade. C Grade sees Rose Kingston half a point ahead of Paul Benefield.
Don’t forget Prize Giving on 20 December; a time to bring a plate and more importantly your friends, partners and family! -
Lars Dobbertin-King continues his unbroken run in the 2nd Series of our Club Champs with an upset win over David Paul. This win has upset the apple-cart for David; he is now only half a point in front of Alan Winfield and one point ahead of Lars—exciting stuff!

It’s great to be back at the Library to finish the first series of the Club Champs. David Paul has a comfortable 1.5 point lead in the A Grade, Sean Doyle is only half a point ahead in the B grade, and the C grade is led by Rose Kingston. The first round of the 2nd series of the Champs begins Tuesday.

Next week we start the Holy Grail of Kapiti Chess—the Club Championships, 8 rounds played in two series with a timeframe of 1 hour 30 seconds with a 30 second add-on per move. -
Congratulations goes to David Paul for winning the Leo Eichholtz Trophy. Due to low numbers the final 8th round was not played.
